Traveling with a one year old can be challenging. Some pluses... as she is not an infant there is much less to carry, she eats basically what everyone else eats and she is easily entertained by almost anything. She likes to eat by herself and likes to grab your hand so that you can see where she wants to go!
The first part of the weekend was spent at Sakatah State Park by Waterville. We picnicked, biked, and boated and had a wonderful time! Memorial Day was spent at Crystal Lake thinking about Grandpa and Grandma and enjoying the lovely day. We had fried chicken and salads, chips and dip, rhubarb and silk pie. Put the boat in and enjoyed putting around the lake.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day... what a great way to honor those who are no longer with us!
It doesn't matter what we are doing...
Hanging out in the living room... she is running around chasing the kitty, tearing apart the cds and dvds, and dragging her toys from one end to the other. She waits for mom's attention to be lagging and starts a mad dash for the stairs and once at the top she yells taunts down below just to see if she will get a response!
Playing with Emily... this can lead to OH... so much TROUBLE! They play out in the rain creating interesting new hairstyles. They chase after poor kitties. They play with trains and barbies and love to splash around in the tub.
Did I mention the tub... she loves being in the tub, lying on her tummy, kicking her feet and drinking the water from the washcloth.
No, life is never dull... it is the grandest adventure, especially if you have a 1 year old who is just learning things for the first time!
Yes! I did forget to tell all about the Mommy and Me Birthday party. It happened the week after Ellie's birthday. It was so cool to see how big they had all gotten and it was fun to watch little Sophie hug and hug and hug Ellie over and over again. There were a total of 6 babies who were able to attend: Ellie, Grace, Sophie, Miles, William, and Frank.
Ellie has created a new game which involves a sock or bib, putting it under her chin and then putting her hands behind her back. She is so much fun!
Okay... so it is sideways... that wasn't the way I have it on my computer... but... this is just so cute and it is what she does constantly! This is my little girl singing... you will have to admit that she has a beautiful voice!
Thanks Amy we all think so and everyone is just smitten with her! It was so great of your Dad... read more
